Swimmin'

Last weekend the Village sponsored a free family swim night at a local aquatics center. It was so fun! We took Bug and had a family adventure. They had a kiddie splash and wading pool as well as a lap pool. We started in the kiddie wading pool but Bug was freaked out. There was a lot of kids running around and she was scared of the water. It wasn't working so we took her to the big lap pool and just planned on holding her. When I got in she curled up her legs and grabbed onto my shoulder and clenched up in a ball like a little monkey. It was so cute! We would pull her through the water and she would stay curled up just being vertically dragged through the water.

She even got to the point where we would stand her up on the side of the pool and she would toddle two steps to jump in and we would catch her. So fun!

After a while she started to get comfirtable and like it. She even started trying to swim and kicking her legs. After a while though, she started to get cold and shivered so we got out and wrapped her in a towel. While we were waiting for the family dressing room, she kept pointing to the water and trying to walk back over even though she was shivering. So cute!

I can't wait to go swimming as a family again!!
