Luau!

So with the encouragement of my father to once again blog, here we go!

Yesterday was our village Luau. The village throws an annual party right after the Spring semester and this years this was a Luau. Everyone was encouraged to dress up and there was even a costume contest. When we began walking down, and Bugs first saw the blow up toys and balloons, she just kept saying "ank oo" "ank oo" "ank oo" over and over as she moved her little legs as fast as she could to get down to the carnival party. It was so cute! (For those who don't speak toddler-ese, "ank oo" means Thank you. :) She's so polite! )Well, they had free ice cream, free sno cones, and even a hula hoop contest. Then at 5:30 they served free pizza and drinks. Tarzan and I looked at the clock and saw it was about 5:15 and so we started looking around for where the pizza would be because we were getting hungry and we saw some random balloons tied by the community center, so we wandered over there. We were right! We saw pizza boxes and they told us it would be just a couple more minutes. Then we turned around and saw a line had already formed behind us! By the time the pizza was ready, the line was super long and winding around the soccer field. But we were first in line! Woop!

We entered Bugs in to the costume contest. We got her a little grass skirt, an orange flowered tank top, wrapped leis around her wrists for bracelets and put a lei around her neck. Her hair was up in piggy tails. So cute! Well, apparently everyone else thought so, too. The winners were chosen by cheering. And Bugs won! :) She won a big pink ball and two certificates for free ice cream from Arctic Circle. Well, now onto some pictures!
